runs better than the windows version thanks to further patching. I think most people having problem have older version of OSX. The newest version of Rome Total War now requires 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion). If you are running up to date operating system, exit app store then delete the Rome Total War app. Come back to app store, go to purchases tab and redownload the game. If game STILL doesn’t work it is likely a hardware conflict. For instance, if you have multiple graphics cards and one of them isn’t compatabile the game won’t launch until you remove the other graphic card completely.

This game was great from the start and still is, but… game crashes on battle maps consistently. Please fix

A lifelong Total War fan, being in a "Mac household" forced me to only play at my friends houses. Well, no longer. A fantastic adaptation to mac, that looks and runs better than the pc version. It is not hard to run at max settings (even with my 2010 macbook pro) and still runs at a smooth 30-50 fps. I reccomend this to any total war, strategy, or videogame fan who needs something to do. *UPDATE* After looking up some optimization videos on youtube, my game is running a constant 60 even with graphics mods. CAN’T GET BETTER!

I played this game back a long time ago while I was a kid and I really enjoyed it. I was pumped to download this version of RTW and it ran like a charm. A couple of my friends also bought this game in hopes of playing multiplayer. Unfortunetly I seemed to not do my research because the only option is “LAN” and all I get is an error message that I can not connect. If you want to play single player the game is as awesome as I remember. IF you want to play multiplayer, do not purchase this game. I can not find a fix online, but I hope I am the only one with this problem.

Bought the game cause I loved it so much when I was a kid, But it will not load. If anyone can help me with it I would really like to play.

Once you get to IOS 10.8.5 at least all things should be fine and it should work properly but if you are not 10.8.5 than it will not download.

I realize it’s a sim and some folks love sims and probably love this game. After 30min I lost interest.

Rome Total War isn’t working on system any more. Love the old game and have been playing it since it came out on PC, but the constant off and on again with it’s function needs to be addressed. ASAP.

Starting at the begining of the game, you get an awesome tutorial. Unlike other games, you can choose not to complete missions, etc. This provides a lot of freedom, fun gameplay, and the experience of being a real faction. Advice is always available, which is useful considering the complexity of the game. You can even have suggestions for what buildings to buy and troops to recruit. This game, in adition to awesome battles where you can completely control your army and play with strategies, provides an experience to play around with politics and try to woo the roman senate and the people. Overall, this game is the best for politics, freedom, and excellent gameplay. Also: do not leave this game open as it takes up a ton of energy. IT WILL PREVENT A MACBOOK FROM CHARGING.

Fun game but constantly crashes. Not worth it.

App will not downlaod. Stuck in perpetual pause mode and the “install” button will not function.

This game is great! It has endless fun. I have never encountered any bugs in this game but I only play the mode where you can do what ever you want. I also liked the replay function so that I can watch my crazy battles over again. This game is AWESOME if you are thinking about buying it then get it

I really enjoyed playing this game on PC when it came out. The mac version on a new retina macbook pro continuously crashes. I’ve uninstalled and reloaded the game twice now and still crashes. A waste of money.

I just purchased the game and when i clicked install, it went into the launchpad and never started to download. I clicked on the installation wizard and it said installation files are corrupted and to please download again. Im not good with computers so if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it please write how to in a review. Dont really wanna waste $25

yes, i’m having the same problem as the comment under me. the game will not download. it just says install and to try again in the purchased page and keeps telling me that everytime i try to install. I tried calling apple about it and they couldn’t help, so it’s only the app thats causing the problem. Apple told me to try getting in contact with the app developers which i am as of today.

i have the latest OS X (el capitain) and every time i try to download from the app store I get the same error message that doesnt tell me any particular error has occurred, just that an error has occurred. it wont download and no one at apple knows anything about how to fix it. ive spent five hours on the phone (most of it on hold as they transfer me to another person while they start the whole cycle of questions over again, never getting anywhere) with them the past two days to no avail.

Like other reviewers below me in recent weeks I am getting the same error message. I go to the purchases page and try to reinstall and get the same messaage over and over again. I was on the phone with apple for over an hour and a half with no resolution in sight. I tried everything they suggested to me and am waiting on them to now suggest giving me a refund. The new operating system has given me a host of other problems beyond taking my money for the app. Rename it El Marinero; it’s not ready yet to be called El Capitan.

It is overall a good game. But when you are playing the battles there are glitches in the troops in which they would face the wrong directions. Which causes you to lost the battle. The Units sometime get stuck inside the war. I don’t know if it is a bug in the game or what. But I think they should take a look at the game, and fix any bugs that are within the game
