Long Overdue, but well worth the wait.
I planned to write this review earlier, but I kept having to play. Just. One. More. Turn. And then it was 4am, and I had to be at work in 3 hours. ;-)
If youre not familiar with the "Total War" series on the PC, then you are really missing out. I actually picked up a half decent Toshiba gaming laptop just to be able to play this game and a few others when my household went nearly totally all Mac a couple of years back.
Depsite the original game being about 7 years old now, I find that $30 is a good price to pay for the original game and its expansions to play them natively on the Mac.
Although I love the Civilization series, Ive often played it and wished that I had more control over the battles and that I could freeze the game in a particular era of time a bit longer. Sure, there are mods and scenarios that allow you to do that to a certain extent but they arent as compelling as Total War games. You also get the bonus of losing out on all the micromanagement that goes along with playing Civ.
The best reason to buy this game and support the developer is that Shogun: Total War II will be out for the PC soon. Support these guys and make it worth their while to port a more modern Total War game to the Mac.
